Join the Chief Scout Executive at
Excellence in Youth Leadership Evening
NCAC’s Excellence in Youth Leadership Evening recognizes Eagle Scouts, Quartermasters and Venturing Silver Award recipients who earned their awards in 2011. Participants (who need not be currently involved in Scouting) from business, social and civic organizations are invited to mentor Scouts in their vocation of interest to provide insight and advice on how to continue their personal and professional development towards their career goals.
 SPECIAL GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT: BSA Chief Scout Executive Bob Mazzuca is this year’s Class Honoree and Keynote Speaker. This will be one of the last public appearances for Mazzuca, a Distinguished Eagle Scout, as BSA's “CEO.” A new Chief Scout Executive will be announced at the BSA National Meeting.
The event will be May 16, 6 PM at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner (McLean, VA). If you are interested in being a mentor or to register, click here.
Spring Endowment Celebration
 The 2012 Spring Endowment Celebration was held on April 28 at the Marriott Scout Service Center. The event recognized new donors to the Council's endowment fund, and rededicated the Alice S. Marriott Patio and the Robert & Dee Leggett Endowment Garden.

2012 Patriot "Good Scout" Award
 On April 25, the Honorable Pete Sessions was recognized as NCAC's 2012 Patriot "Good Scout". In addition to his leadership in Congress, Congressman Sessions has a long history of service to Scouting nationally. He is a Distinguished Eagle Scout, the son of a Distinguished Eagle Scout, and father of two Eagle Scouts. For pictures from the event, click here.
NCAC 2012 Court of Honor
 More than 400 Scout leaders and family members turned out for the National Capital Area Council 2012 Court of Honor on March 29. Twenty-six local leaders received the Silver Beaver award in recognition of distinguished service to youth. Dan McCarthy, the immediate past council president, was named the 2012 Silver Beaver cass honoree in recognition of his years of devoted service to the council.
