Effective June 1, 2010 Important changes have been made to BSA’s Youth Protect Training (YPT) Policies Click here for more details
Youth Protection Training is required for all registered volunteers.
New leaders are required to take Youth Protection Training before they submit their application for registration. The certificate of completion for this training must be submitted at the time application is made and before volunteer service with youth begins.
Youth Protection Training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer’s Youth Protection Training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be reregistered.
Reminder about NCAC Local Tour Permit rules: Click here for more details Click here for F.A.Q's
Local tour permits are required for any day activity where a unit is traveling more than 50 miles (but less than 500) UNLESS they are traveling on an overnight activity, aquatics activity, high adventure activity OR TO AN OUT-OF-COUNCIL SUMMER CAMP.
Overnight activities, aquatics activities, high adventure trips AND all out-of-council camp attendance require a tour permit. Cub Scout packs and dens do not have to file a tour permit for ‘Go See It’ activities.
